Polaroid SX-70 Blue Hydro-chromed Sample Folding Instant Film Camera

A few years ago we experimented with hydro-chroming camera parts. This is one of our few remaining samples from the project. The chrome finish is blue and mirror-like, but does feel like glossy plastic to the touch. The hydro-chrome finish shows signs of light chipping on some edges, which is why we ultimately didn't proceed with making more. Please note we are not aware of the longevity of the finish, and do not provide a warranty on the exterior cosmetics of this camera. This camera is truly one of a kind, and we've had many requests to sell it when we've featured it on our Instagram.

The collapsible body, manual focusing system and exposure adjustment options give it a perfect blend of form and precision still sought by photographers today.

This is a genuine piece of vintage retro tech - refurbished and restored by Retrospekt. Our process includes:

• Deconstructing the camera to its base components
• Verifying the form and function of each piece
• Repairing and replacing pieces whenever necessary, but also...
• Retaining original pieces whenever reasonably possible
• Cleaning all optical and viewing components including lenses and fresnels
• Polishing exterior components
• Applying new Italian leather replacement coverings
• Packaging each camera in a specially made box
