These were the first 2 photos I took using a fresh pack of film, with my new Sx-70 Sonar 600 Converted camera. I’m not a guy who’s easily impressed, but the quality of this refurbished camera is insane. It’s really like they made it in the year 2023, not to mention this camera is over 40 years old! Everything is so clean! From the view finder, to the glass lens, to the metal housing, the shutter button, the exposure dials, the original wordage,the Sonar housing etc!For Christ sakes the camera even has a new smell scent on it. Oh I forgot mention, the packaging that the camera arrived in is definitely worth keeping, It’s like Retro took notes at Apple’s school of packaging design before designing it. Retro definitely not only provides a great top notch refurbished product, but they also give you a top notch user experience to go along with your retro camera. I’ve only had the camera a few days, I’ll be taking picture’s heavily with it so I’ll be back to update my review if need be. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this company, I’n fact. I just sent in my SLR 680 to get tuned up. Hope this helps the person reading these reviews make an educated purchasing decision. Happy Picture Taking!

This item was exactly as I had hoped. The packaging was beautiful and the craftsmanship is first-class. I have been shopping for an SX-70 for some time and retrospekt did not disappoint. This camera is "brand new". Everything works and feels perfect from the focus of the lens to the folding, and unfolding of the camera all functions are smooth and solid. Very pleased!

I have a few Polaroids and they all work...somewhat... Retrospekt sent me a completely restored SX-70 sonar and I cannot be happier. All photos have exposed perfectly and it honestly looks brand new. Shipping take a while but it is worth every second of waiting! I will be sending my other 3 SX-70 sonar and 3 SLR 680 for them to repair and restore. I can't wait for the results.

The camera I got is beautiful! I purchased a SX-70 Sonar with the 600 film type conversion and couldn't be happy. The camera works smoothly, exposes 600 film well, and has been taken care of very well. So far no issues but will definitely reach out to the company if any arise. You can really tell that the camera has gone through a great refurbishment.

For me, it's the details that count: the quick replies from Ryan at customer service, granting my request for tan leather, placement sticker for your thumb, warning sticker that this model has been modified for 600 film, the secure packaging, beautiful magnetic case, and the overall cleanliness makes you think it came straight from the factory. Not to mention as a car guy they give you cool retrospekt stickers!!!
It's quickly becoming my favourite thing to shoot pics with. Not knowing if you got the perfect or slight imperfections in the film are what makes each photo so unique.

I recently purchased a refurbished SX-70 Sonar converted to use 600 film and it’s absolutely stunning. It looks like it has never been used and I’m the first person to ever take a photo with it. If you’ve been on the fence about getting a refurbished camera from Retrospekt, I would highly recommend hoping off that fence and ordering a camera right now.

Placed on 22-12-20 order and today 5-2-21 finally received, not by retrospekt but by customs.

The converting work is smooth, it works with 600 film perfectly, I shot a lot photo with 600 already and it worth the extra dollar you put into it.

I have recently become obsessed with Polaroid after getting a One Step 2, but I suspected the older models were overall better quality, and might deliver better photos. Looking on Ebay for SX-70's, etc will yield a lot of results and some slightly cheaper, however, there is zero guarantee on how well they will work, and most of the people selling them know nothing about the mechanics, or the cameras themselves. I feel fortunate to have found Retrospekt. I felt I could absolutely trust Retrospekt to deliver a quality camera, and they definitely have. I've taken a few photos with it, and they look so much better then then the cheaper camera I have. Besides USPS taking forever to do their jobs and deliver the package, this was a great transaction and everyone I spoke with was helpful and knowledgable! Would highly recommend!
