Shipping & Returns
Note on shipping timelines:
Retrospekt has no control over shipping times or other shipping logistics once an item leaves our facility. All dates provided by Retrospekt are only projections received from the shipping company and ultimately at the mercy of USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL. While these companies are reputable and regarded as industry leaders, actual delivery dates may vary without warning from the projected dates they initially supply. The individual tracking number received in your shipping confirmation email may provide more information on the current location of your package. All tracking data about your package is provided by the shipping service.
We ship free to locations within the contiguous US.
Expect a tracking number within three business days.
We are obsessive packagers. Receiving thousands of parcels over the years has taught us what it takes to get your item to your door in the same condition it left ours. Contact us ASAP if something isn't looking right upon delivery.
Unfortunately, once an item leaves our facility we have no control over shipping times and logistics. All projected delivery dates are provided directly by the shipping carrier and are only estimations.
Please note: We cannot guarantee alternate methods of shipping unless arranged and confirmed prior to order. If your order requires special attention please contact firstname.lastname@example.org prior to ordering. We are available Monday - Friday from 8:00-4:00 CT and are usually able to respond within one business day. Customers hoping to use an expedited service will be responsible for any additional shipping costs. Not all items are eligible for same-day expedited shipping. Requests for expedited shipping must be made before 12:00 PM CT. If confirmed, any additional shipping costs must be paid by 2:00 PM CT in order to ensure the item will be shipped the same day.
Incorrect Shipping Information / Undeliverable Items
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate and deliverable shipping information. Buyers are responsible for any additional charges for merchandise that is returned to Retrospekt due to incorrect shipping information, inability to properly receive shipments at the provided address, or failure to pick up shipments that are held by the carrier. Charges include: duty charges for international deliveries, or re-shipping merchandise to correct address. If the buyer decides he/she no longer wants the product due to an undeliverable address, he/she can request a refund. Refunds will be issued once Retrospekt has received the returned merchandise, buyer will not be refunded for incurred shipping costs, re-stocking fees may apply.
If an undeliverable item is returned to Retrospekt we will reach out in an attempt to successfully deliver the package. If we do not receive a response within 30 days to correct the delivery information and/or pay any additional costs associated with the subsequent delivery, the order will be refunded, minus our original shipping and handling costs for the undeliverable shipment. Re-stocking fees may apply.
Retrospekt is not responsible for packages after the tracking information provided by the shipping carrier indicates they have been delivered to the shipping address provided by the buyer at time of purchase. This includes issues after delivery such as theft of unattended packages, damage, etc.
In the event a package is lost, stolen or damaged in transit, you may be asked to provide additional information to facilitate a resolution.
Retrospekt uses a variety of carriers to get your items safely to the address specified. Since PO Boxes require the use of USPS for shipping, Retrospekt reserves the right to request additional shipping charges to PO Box addresses. Customers can provide Retrospekt with a non-PO Box address, pay for the additional charges for PO Box deliveries, or simply have their orders canceled and refunded.
We are happy to service customers from around the world, however our international buyers should to be aware of a few things that may result in additional costs before ordering:
- Shipping for international orders will be calculated at checkout and is paid for by the customer. Delivery times vary by location. All estimated delivery times are provided by the shipping service used and are only a projection. For locations outside the US, local government regulations and checks may add unspecified delays to the delivery process.
- International orders may also be subject to import duties placed on a package by the receiving country. This is determined on a country-by-country basis at the time it arrives in that country. Retrospekt has no prior knowledge if a package will or will not be subject to an import duty by the receiving country, nor do we know what the cost will be if assigned. International customers should be aware that these duties present the potential for an additional cost that they must pay in full to their country's customs department in order to receive their package. Packages returned to us because of a customer's failure or refusal to pay an import duty will be treated in accordance to Retrospekt’s existing return policy.
The United States Postal Service requires that all addresses are entered in a combination of Roman letters and Arabic numerals. Addresses using any other character sets may not reach their final destination. Any shipping fees incurred by packages returned due to incorrect addresses may not be refunded.
Products Unavailable for International Shipping
We offer international shipping on most of our items, but because of varying factors—including supplier and government regulations—we may be unable to ship certain products to certain locations. If a product is unavailable in your location, you will be unable to select a shipping method for it during checkout.
Currently we are unable to ship the following items outside of the US:
- CD players and radios (Only applies to non-portable, desktop units)
The items listed above may also be subject to a $50 flat-rate shipping fee for domestic locations outside the contiguous United States. This includes Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
We cannot ship orders once they've been placed as "Local Pickup." However, you can place a new order for the same product(s) and select shipping at checkout. Please contact customer service and provide the order numbers from your original order you'd like cancelled and your new order you'd like shipped. We will then be able to cancel and refund your original, local-pickup order.
Local pickup orders will be available at our location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA) for 30 days. If an order is not picked up within 30 days it will be refunded, minus a 5% restocking fee.
Fraud-related Order Cancellations
In order to protect the personal data of both our customers and the general public, our e-commerce platform uses an automated system for preventing fraudulent use of payment credentials. If our system classifies an order as being a high-fraud risk it may cancel it automatically. An order may be classified as such for a variety of reasons, and the system may or may not provide you with an error at time of checkout. In these cases, Retrospekt may contact you requesting additional information (we will only contact you from email@example.com). If you are unable to checkout, or have received notification after placing your order that it has been cancelled due to fraud, please contact us.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, such a system is also essential for maintaining your financial security.
Sending Items for Services
When purchasing a repair or film processing service, the item must be shipped to Retrospekt using our prepaid label (if in the US) within 28 days. After 28 days, Retrospekt reserves the right to cancel and refund the order less the cost of the shipping label. The prepaid labels expire after 28 days and are non-refundable.
We value transparency and honesty, and try to make our listings as clear as possible. If you feel like your item is not working (or looking!) as described, shoot us a message so we can help you troubleshoot and remedy the issue.
Items can be returned within 14 days of receiving your package (as confirmed by tracking). If you wish to make a return, you must initiate contact within this 14 day window. Once the return is approved, items must be shipped back to Retrospekt within 14 days. The return will be subject to a 5% re-stocking fee.
To initiate a return, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. To ensure your refund is processed correctly, all returns must be authorized by our customer service team before they are sent back. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. All returns must be shipped back within 14 days of receiving authorization from Retrospekt.
Once your return arrives at Retrospekt, please allow up to 14 days to see the refund appear on your original payment method.
Any functional and/or cosmetic defects should be addressed within 14 days of receiving your package. Please include as much information as possible about the nature of your problem. Our customer service team may ask you for more information about the nature of your issue in an attempt to troubleshoot and/or provide you with a successful resolution.
If you are experiencing issues after the first 14 days, still let us know! We have a team of tool-happy technicians with lightning speed turnaround times.
All items must be in new or unused condition, with original packaging and all parts and components intact and included. Opened items returned in less-than-resellable condition will be subject to an increased restocking fee.
Once its original retail packaging has been opened (or attached tags removed), we cannot accept returns of the following:
- All instant and roll film
- Disposable cameras
- Koss headphones
- New cassettes, CDs and vinyl
- Vintage novelty film cameras
- Worn and/or laundered apparel
- Replacement skins on Polaroid folding cameras (once applied to camera)
Products listed above must be completely sealed in order to be eligible for a refund. Items that are non-refundable once opened will not be sent back to the customer if the customer returns them to Retrospekt and they are rejected for refund upon arrival at our location.
Gift cards are non refundable and have no cash value.
Occasionally Retrospekt has promotions in which an item is provided for meeting a certain spending threshold. In the case a return needs to be made on such an order, the bonus/free item must also be returned to get a full refund. If that item is not included in the return, the order will be refunded less the value of the item as listed on the site.
Return Policy for Vintage Watches
We take pride in providing honest and accurate descriptions for all of our curated timepieces. We display numerous high-resolution photographs of each timepiece. We also strongly encourage you to contact us if you require any additional details, descriptions or photographs before making a purchase decision. Please treat your decision to purchase as a final sale. Any requests for a return will be granted solely at our discretion and only for extenuating circumstances. Buyers must contact us within three (3) days after the date of delivery for a return authorization. If granted, the return must be shipped fully insured with return postage paid by the buyer. If granted, the original purchase price, minus a 10% restocking fee, will be refunded. A refund will be issued ONLY if the watch arrives in the same condition, and with all accessories, as initially shipped. Refunds cannot be provided for watches returned without prior authorization. All international sales are FINAL.

Reviving, servicing and using vintage electronic devices is a unique and magical experience that can sometimes require a little bit of specialized know-how. How to get optimal results from certain retro formats may no longer be the common knowledge it once was. Think about helping your grandparents with their first cellphone — things probably could have been reversed the first time you held a vinyl record.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to know it all up front, we’re here to walk you through things. Sometimes a device isn’t broken, there’s just a trick to using it. That’s not to say it’s always operator error — shipping or simply the unknowable effects of age can also play a role in creating issues. For these reasons, our customer service team may initially respond to service, warranty and return claims with questions and advice intended to help troubleshoot your specific issues with the goal of returning your device to working order as soon as possible (without having to wait on shipping things back and forth).
