The Asahi Pentax S1a is a 35mm SLR designed around a compact, durable metal body with a clean and functional layout. It uses the M42 screw mount, making it compatible with a wide range of Takumar lenses. This example is fitted with a Super-Takumar 55mm f/2 lens, known for its smooth focusing and balanced optical performance. The camera features a fully mechanical shutter, manual film advance and a straightforward optical viewfinder, offering a direct, tactile shooting experience without reliance on electronics.
