Canon FT QL 35mm SLR Film Camera
The Canon FT QL is a 35mm single-lens reflex film camera introduced in the mid-1960s and built around Canon’s Quick Load (QL) film system, which simplifies loading by allowing the film leader to be laid across the take-up area before closing the back. The camera features a durable metal body with a fully mechanical shutter offering speeds from 1 second to 1/1000 second plus bulb, along with a built-in match-needle light meter for exposure guidance. Its through-the-lens viewing system works with Canon’s FL-mount lenses, allowing accurate framing and manual focusing through the optical viewfinder. External controls for shutter speed, aperture and film advance provide direct manual operation, reflecting the straightforward, mechanical design typical of Canon’s mid-1960s SLR cameras.
