General Electric 3-5352A Portable Cassette Player/Recorder
The General Electric 3-5352A is a compact portable cassette recorder designed primarily for voice capture, note-taking and interviews rather than music playback. Produced in the late 1980s to early 1990s, it features voice-activated recording, a digital tape counter and basic transport controls optimized for spoken audio. The textured front panel and clearly labeled functions reflect its utilitarian focus, while support for review and preview makes it practical for transcription and field use. This model represents GE’s straightforward approach to personal recording devices during a period when cassette remained the standard medium for portable documentation.
Please note that playback through headphones is mono and not stereo; audio will only be heard in one ear.
Every vintage item we restore has a story, and we take great care to preserve its authenticity.
