Each unit is carefully disassembled, inspected and cleaned. Key components such as drive belts, idler tires and pinch wheels are replaced, playback speed is calibrated, and the tapehead is cleaned and demagnetized. The volume potentiometer is deoxidized, and outer housings are polished for a clean finish.
