Island of Fire "The Prisoner" (1990) is a Taiwanese-Hong Kong action film directed by Kevin Chu, starring Tony Leung Ka-fai, Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan and Andy Lau. The film follows Wang Wei (Leung), a police officer who, after witnessing his father-in-law's assassination by an assassin who was supposedly executed, goes undercover in a corrupt prison to investigate. Inside, he encounters various inmates, including Lung (Chan), who accidentally killed a man while trying to fund his girlfriend's surgery, and Lau (Lau), who seeks revenge for his brother's death. The film addresses themes of justice, corruption and camaraderie within the prison system.
