La Bohème (1986) is a filmed opera performance starring Luciano Pavarotti and Fiamma Izzo D’Amico, directed by Giancarlo Menotti. Recorded live during Pavarotti’s historic tour of China, this production of Puccini’s classic opera follows the tragic love story between Rodolfo, a poet, and Mimì, a seamstress, set in 1830s Paris. With the Genoa Opera Company and conductor Leone Magiera, this rendition captures one of Pavarotti’s most powerful performances on film.
