Olivetti Valentine Red Manual Typewriter and Case
The Olivetti Valentine is a manual portable typewriter designed by Ettore Sottsass and Perry A. King, first released in 1969. Manufactured in Spain and later in Italy and Mexico, the Valentine was created as a design-forward alternative to the traditional typewriter — intended “for use anywhere except in an office.”
Its striking red ABS plastic body and minimalist form quickly made it an icon of industrial design, now held in the permanent collections of institutions like MoMA and the V&A. Despite its playful aesthetic, the Valentine is a fully functional machine, built on the reliable mechanics of the Olivetti Lettera 32 platform.
The typewriter has been fully serviced, refurbished, and tested — ready for immediate use. It includes its original red hard-shell case with an integrated handle for easy transport. Please note: there is prominent spotting on the back left of the body alongside normal cosmetic wear consistent with its age.
