The Praktica PLC 2 is a mid-1970s 35mm SLR produced in East Germany, part of the later generation of Praktica bodies built around electronic shutter control. It uses the M42 screw mount and incorporates TTL metering, with exposure information displayed via LEDs in the viewfinder rather than a needle system. The body is heavy and straightforward, with minimal cosmetic flourishes and a layout that reflects its utilitarian origins. It was designed as a practical working camera, prioritizing reliability and compatibility with a wide range of M42 lenses over refinement or compactness.
This camera has been converted to use 625 batteries. In addition, the meter mode ring is a 3D printed replacement.
