In 1979, Sony changed how humans listen to music with their innovative Walkman series. For the first time ever, music was truly portable. The company's timeless designs are as iconic today as they were upon their release, and this first-generation TPS-L2 is no exception.

You'll notice the unit says "Stereo" instead of "Walkman." Why is that? When the TPS-L2 was released, Sony still didn't have a name picked out for their portable music player. The second-generation Walkmans were the first to feature the Walkman name and branding. 

All of our portable cassette players come with retro-inspired orange-foam headphones and batteries, which means all you need is a cassette and you are ready to jam. All of our cassette players are lovingly refurbished by our experienced repair team.  Each unit undergoes a complete disassembly and inspection.  We replace drive belts, calibrate the playback speed, deoxidize the volume potentiometer, and demagnetize the tapehead, all of which will create the best possible listening experience.

Our refurbishing team expertly polishes all outer housings.  Because each player has had a life before Retrospekt, the device will show signs of previous usage, but it is guaranteed to be functional, clean, and restored.
