The Sony WM-DD9 is a portable cassette player introduced in 1989 as the flagship model of Sony’s DD Walkman line. Building on the direct-drive “disc drive” transport introduced with the original WM-DD, the DD9 featured quartz-locked speed control, dual-capstan transport and Dolby B/C noise reduction, giving it a reputation as one of the highest-performing cassette players ever made in a truly portable form.

Our vintage refurbished players are professionally restored by a skilled team of technicians to ensure they perform like new while retaining their original charm. Each unit is carefully disassembled, inspected and cleaned. Key components such as drive belts, idler tires and pinch wheels are replaced, playback speed is calibrated, and the tapehead is cleaned and demagnetized. The volume potentiometer is deoxidized, and outer housings are polished for a clean finish.
