I was really excited to purchase the Sony WM-F41 during Retrospekt’s anniversary sale. It’s a good-looking model and playback works well. I appreciate the chance to own a refurbished piece of vintage tech like this and I can tell some care went into bringing it back to life. Before ordering, I noticed the product listing on Retrospekt’s website did not specify the cosmetic grade, only that the AM radio wasn’t functional. I emailed customer support to ask and a representative confirmed it was A-Grade. Based on that, I moved forward with the purchase. However, when the unit arrived, there was a clearly visible curved scratch on the front and a slight casing gap on one side. I’m still not really convinced the unit I have received fully meets A-Grade standards. Shipping was also much slower than expected. I placed the order on a Friday, it shipped out the following Monday, and I didn’t receive it until the Monday after that. A full week later. For something at this price point, the wait felt unusually long. To their credit, Retrospekt’s support team was responsive and waived the restocking fee when I raised my concerns, though unfortunately they weren’t able to honor the original discount if I chose to exchange for a different unit. I ultimately decided to keep it, but the overall experience left me a little disappointed. I still admire what the company does and I just wish the communication, grading clarity, and shipping speed had aligned better with the rest of the experience.
I LOVE IT! I bought this for myself as a birthday gift and although I was impatient to get it in the mail a week after I ordered(I live in CA) it was totally worth the wait and I take it with me almost everywhere now listening to the radio and bringing my tapes with me too and I love how retrospekt also gave me a free cassette to play music on!

I took the player to work with me for a day and listen to it for the majority of my shift. It played every tape I brought with me extremely well. The speed of the player is accurate and consistent. Wow and flutter is practically non-existent. I absolutely love listening to all of my old cassettes once again! The free cassette that came with the player is awesome, plus seeing a cassette released in modern times is just so cool!! I love that this company is taking old vintage products, rebuilding them to like new quality and reselling them!

i love this walkman! it’s really nice to be able to not only listen to an album front to back, but do so without being weighed down by pings from my phone or computer. intentionality is really missing from streaming, and the simplicity of a cassette is really special these days. the sound quality is great and cosmetically, it’s in great shape for being 30+ years old. pretty sure my parents are kind of gagged that i’m willingly using tech that they had in high school, but i love it!
Finally happy to get a working Sony Walkman. This is the second time I order from Retrospekt and I'm again amazed by the quality of their refurbished stock. Only downside which is not Retrospect fault is that once again, I had to pay 40$CAD of customs fee when I did pick up the package at my local post office. So be aware that you might spend a bit more.
This walkman is awesome, but in my experience the company is more awesome because they provide great customer service and warranty. As of right now they're helping me resolve an issue, like I said awesome service!
Amazing Walkman, Amazing Service, and shockingly fast shipping times. I ordered a WM-F41 and not only did it get here only 3 days after my purchase (with free shipping!) But it also came in a nice box with my headphones and free bonus cassette. It works perfectly and when using my own personal pair of headphones, the sound quality is amazing. Would 100% recommend retrospekt if you're looking to buy a vintage Walkman

The refurbished Walkman arrived in excellent condition! Nicely packaged with batteries and a cassette tape, all ready to use! The sound quality has been great. The headphones fit just like I remember from the old one I used to have as a kid. They've done a great job.

Man at first I thought it was sus because I saw Walkman’s being sold for thousands of dollars and it’s very rare to find on eBay and Amazon but man I hit jackpot when I found you guys website.
