Star Trek: The Next Generation – Encounter at Farpoint (1987) is the two-part pilot episode of the sci-fi series directed by Corey Allen and starring Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton. The story follows the crew of the USS Enterprise-D as they are challenged by the enigmatic being Q while investigating a mysterious space station with ties to an alien lifeform.
