The Inspector General (1949) is a musical comedy directed by Henry Koster and starring Danny Kaye, Walter Slezak and Barbara Bates. The film follows Georgi, an illiterate con man mistaken for a government official in a corrupt town, where panicked officials attempt to cover their tracks through increasingly desperate and comedic schemes.
