The Stepford Wives (2004) is a science fiction black comedy directed by Frank Oz and starring Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler, Christopher Walken, Faith Hill and Glenn Close. The film follows Joanna Eberhart (Kidman), a successful television producer who relocates with her husband Walter (Broderick) to the seemingly idyllic town of Stepford, Connecticut. There, she discovers that the local women have been transformed into submissive, perfect housewives through technological means, leading her to uncover a disturbing conspiracy.
