The Yamaha DD-3 is a digital percussion synthesizer pad released in the mid-1980s, designed as a compact tabletop rhythm unit for practice and casual music production. It features built-in PCM drum sounds including kick, snare, toms and cymbals, along with preset rhythm patterns covering styles like rock, swing, disco and samba. The unit includes Yamaha’s “Music Style Synth” system, allowing users to trigger accompaniment patterns and variations, as well as tempo and volume controls for basic sequencing flexibility. With integrated stereo speakers and battery or AC power options, the DD-3 functions as a self-contained rhythm machine suited for quick play and portable use.
